In such a changing context as the present one, education plays a crucial role more than ever, with the challenge of being at the forefront of the transformation process. The educational approaches that served previous generations do not have the capacity to fully prepare today’s children for this future.
Students starting school today will leave school in a world even more interconnected, complex, uncertain and changing than today’s, where those who are adaptable and resilient, those who are prepared to face the inevitable challenges and unimaginable opportunities that tomorrow’s world will bring, will be valued and rewarded.
In order to provide a clear response to this reality Globeducate has created the British International Schools Cluster; a new brand within the group with a shared educational philosophy and positioning, which will bring more and better teaching and learning opportunities to the whole educational community, and of which St. George’s British International School is one of the founding schools of the cluster.
Currently our pupils follow the National Curriculum from Early Years to Year 7, with trained native teachers who teach the majority of subjects in English. The implementation will be carried out gradually, so that the British curriculum will substitute the Spanish one: in the 2021/2022 academic year, for our current Year 7 and 1st of E.S.O. which will then become Year 8 and Year 9 respectively, and so on until 2025, when the implementation of the British curriculum will be completed at all stages of education.

It is not by chance that the school is celebrating today its 65th anniversary. It does not come out of nowhere that out of the 55 different schools in Globeducate, we are the second oldest, after Stonar, which is 150 years old.
It comes from the determination of the people who established this school and kept it going.
The founder of the school made a great effort to build this school from scratch and to keep it going during difficult times.
Now it is our time to move on, to move forward and bring this school to the next level: St George’s British International School of Bilbao, offering British Curriculum in all educational stages.
